On May 21, 2025, MPEI welcomed a delegation from the private Ahmed Baba University (Mali), headed by its president, Ousmane Drame.
MPEI was represented by Sergey Shirinsky, Head of External Relations Department, Elena Gulicheva, Director on International Relations, and staff from the Directorate on International Relations.
During the visit, the guests were introduced to MPEI’s educational and research infrastructure. They toured the laboratories of the Institute of Hydropower and Renewable Energy (IHRE), the Department of Electric Power Systems (EPS), and the National Technology Initiative Center for Electricity Transportation Technologies and Distributed Intelligent Energy Systems (NTI) of the Electrical Power Engineering Institute (IEPE).
The parties discussed potential areas of cooperation, starting from academic exchanges and internships to joint research initiatives. The meeting was held in an open and friendly atmosphere, confirming mutual interest in developing a partnership.
Following the meeting, a memorandum of understanding was signed. Both sides expressed their commitment to strengthening cooperation and continuing the dialogue.
