A professional development program in "Innovative Entrepreneurship in IT" for students from African countries has been launched at Tomsk State University of Control Systems and Radioelectronics.
TUSUR is participating for the second time in the RAFU Summer Multidisciplinary University project as part of the Russian-African Network University consortium. This year, 18 students and postgraduates from Zambia, Senegal, Cameroon, Côte d'Ivoire, Angola, and Zimbabwe, who are studying at universities in Tomsk, Novosibirsk, and Yekaterinburg, will spend two weeks honing their knowledge and skills in innovative entrepreneurship in IT.
"The main idea of this program is that during the training you will divide into small groups and, based on topics that you find interesting for research and innovative entrepreneurial activity, prepare projects that you will present on the final day,"said Olga Maslennikova, head of the network interaction department, addressing the participants. "I am confident that the knowledge and practical experience you gain from working on business projects will help you reach a new level in your career, and of course, you will find friends and like-minded people here."
All project participants received symbolic gifts that will remind them of Tomsk, the university, and their new friends.
The first day of training continued with an introduction to the university's infrastructure and lectures from TUSUR professors. An equally rich program awaits participants in the coming days of training.
The professional development program consists of two blocks. The main block is educational and will introduce participants to the basics of innovation process management and innovations in high technology (robotics, IT, medicine). Students and graduate students will visit laboratories and attend master classes. The cultural and historical part of the program will introduce students and graduate students from African countries to student life in Tomsk. Participants will also enjoy a master class on preparing Siberian cuisine and a trip to the Okolitsa rural park.
