Doctors from the Republic of Kenya will receive additional education and master new technologies at Astrakhan State Medical University

At the XVI International Economic Forum "Russia - Islamic World: KazanForum" an agreement was signed between Astrakhan State Medical University and Kilifi County Specialized Hospital of the Republic of Kenya.

The agreement was signed by the Rector of Astrakhan Medical University, Sergey Poroisky, and the Chief Executive Officer of Angore Specialized Hospital, Gilbert Katana.

"We have an agreement with one of the largest hospitals in the country. The main direction of interaction is the development of additional education programs for Kenyan doctors, transfer of experience. Foreign doctors are very interested," said Sergey Poroisky.

According to the rector, negotiations with the Medical University of the Republic of Mali are underway.

Gilbert Katana emphasized the importance of the initiative and expressed confidence in the future development of bilateral cooperation:

"I came to Russia, to the Kazan Forum, to sign a memorandum with Astrakhan State Medical University. Our goal is to develop cooperation in the field of medicine. Doctors from Astrakhan will be able to visit Kenya, and our specialists will be able to gain experience in clinics in Astrakhan. We are confident that this will be the beginning of a long and productive cooperation.
