The event was held at the House of Nationalities and brought together a wide range of participants, including experts, public figures, government officials, and students from African countries studying in St. Petersburg. Welcoming remarks were made by Igor Zhukov, Director of the House of Nationalities, Anna Krasavtseva, Chief Specialist of the Department for Relations with Compatriots Abroad of the City's Committee for External Relations, and Adam Ahmed Abdalla Ishaq, President of the African Unity Autonomous Non-Profit Organization. Alexandra Le Gall, a specialist from the RAFU project office, also attended the event at the invitation of the DRC Community of St. Petersburg Polytechnic University.

The round table discussed both the historical role of Patrice Lumumba and the current prospects for cooperation between Russia and African countries. Particular attention was paid to the adaptation and support of African students studying in St. Petersburg, as well as issues of cultural exchange.

A vibrant program was organized for guests, including a display of national costumes, creative performances, and a themed exhibition featuring paintings, graphic art, sculptures, and decorative and applied art.

The event was organized by the African Unity Autonomous Non-Profit Organization and the Nebesny Charitable Foundation, with support from the House of Nationalities.
