National Research Lobachevsky State University of Nizhny Novgorod (UNN) welcomes involved students & alumni from African countries to join the International Summer School “Diagnostics, modeling, monitoring of pathophysiological processes in cardiovascular pathology”held in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia in July 2025 within the framework of the Russian-African Network University.
The training aims to acquire primary surgical skills (preparation, performing surgical nodes and vascular ligation, applying standard and vascular sutures, mastering methods of temporary and permanent stopping of bleeding, and basic principles of surgical access to the heart and large vessels), technical (working with medical equipment & AI in medicine), and analytical (data interpretation) skills related to blood tests, microscopy & modeling cardiovascular pathology. To get acquainted with the latest methods of diagnosis of CVD in clinical settings, the trainees will visit the Specialized Cardiac Surgery Clinical Hospital in Nizhny Novgorod.
The cultural track of the program contains a basic course of Russian language & history, a visit to the University Botanical Garden, Nizhny Novgorod city tours, and welcome meetings with the administration of Nizhny Novgorod and the regional government.
