At Kazan Federal University, the “Summer Multidisciplinary University” (LMU) has started within the framework of the activities of the Russian-African Network University (RAFU).
The event is taking place in the format of a short-term supplementary general development program “Modern Problems of Biomedicine and Biotechnologies” for young specialists from the Arab Republic of Egypt on the basis of the Institute of Fundamental Medicine and Biology of KFU. The educational program of the LMU is built around three main blocks:
Welcoming the guests, Director of the Institute of Fundamental Medicine and Biology of Kazan University Andrey Kiyasov noted:
“We are glad to see talented young researchers at our institute. I am confident that your participation in the Summer Multidisciplinary University will become an important step for you in professional development and will open up new opportunities for international cooperation. Together with our teachers, among other things, you will participate in the improvement of the educational process—the development of course syllabi and teaching materials. I wish you fruitful work, interesting discoveries, and useful acquaintances!”
Director of the Department of External Relations of Kazan Federal University Olga Vershinina pointed out the significance of the project:
“The Summer University is an important part of a large-scale project—the Russian-African Network University. In the next two years, Kazan Federal University will head this strategic project aimed at strengthening Russian-African interaction in the field of education and science. KFU pays great attention to the development of cooperation with scientific and educational centers of Egypt and sets as its task the development of academic mobility for students and young scientists, the expansion of the program of inter-campus mobility with foreign branches, and the creation of new opportunities for joint research and exchange of experience."
After the official opening of the Summer Multidisciplinary University, the participants visited the leading educational centers and laboratories of the Institute of Fundamental Medicine and Biology. The young scientists got acquainted with the exposition of the Anatomical Museum, studied the capabilities of the Simulation Center for practicing practical skills, visited the Training Pharmacy of the Department of Pharmacy, and also visited the Training Center for Experimental Medicine (WETLAB) and the behavior research laboratory of the Department of Human and Animal Physiology.
