Employees of oil and energy companies and relevant ministries of the Republic of Niger have started a training program at Novosibirsk State Technical University NETI within the framework of the Summer Multidisciplinary University of the Russian-African Network University (RAFU-2026). The training is being implemented on the basis of the Faculty of Energy of NSTU NETI.
The program was organized by NSTU NETI together with the Center for People's Diplomacy in the format of transferring technological experience and industrial tourism. It includes an introduction to the advanced scientific and educational infrastructure of NSTU NETI, frontier developments and technologies of the university's scientists.
The delegation of the Republic of Niger included 10 representatives of the oil and energy sectors, including specialists from relevant state structures. The training takes place from the 23rd to the 27th September, each day dedicated to a separate area: immersive technologies and energy independence, neural networks and predictive analytics, high voltages and automation, innovations in distributed energy and the “Energy 5.0” program.

As part of the visit to NSTU NETI, a meeting was held with the university's leadership. The delegation of the Republic of Niger was welcomed by Acting Rector of NSTU NETI Igor Marchuk, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Sergey Chernov, Head of the International Cooperation Department Vadim Nekrasov and Dean of the Faculty of Energy Anastasia Rusina.
Igor Marchuk noted the importance of further developing and strengthening cooperation in strategically important sectors, including energy. He emphasized that NSTU NETI is one of the national leaders both in the field of personnel training and in initiating and implementing advanced research and technological developments that have already been introduced at the largest enterprises of Russia, and also expressed readiness to transmit the accumulated experience in the format of scientific and educational interaction.

According to Sergey Chernov, the program is a new stage in relations with the Republic of Niger.
“We have been working quite closely with your country in the field of education for three years; a preparatory faculty operates on the basis of Abdou Moumouni University, where about 40 students study physics, mathematics, Russian language for a year, and take part in an olympiad that allows them to continue their education in Russia free of charge. 16 people study at NSTU NETI, and this year new students will come to the university's preparatory department. There is a very good project with the company Sonidep, a contract has been signed for the training of four students who will return upon completion and will be employed by the company. This program — is a new stage, a transition to the implementation of advanced training programs for specialists of relevant enterprises and ministries”, — emphasized the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs.
