The Tambov State Technical University hosted a Summer School for Zimbabwean university teachers

From 30 June to 8 July 2024, Tambov State Technical University hosted an educational and cultural Summer School for teachers of the University of Zimbabwe within the framework of the consortium «Russian-African Network University». 

Within the framework of the Summer School for colleagues from Africa, TSTU professors developed and successfully implemented the professional development program «Improving the quality of engineering teacher training in accordance with the principles of sustainable development», including lecture courses in various areas of construction, architecture, agricultural engineering, information technology and telecommunications.

The guests from Africa got acquainted with the unique equipment of the department «Design of radio-electronic and microprocessor systems», scientific developments in the field of VR systems of the department «Systems of automated decision support», achievements, developments, laboratory facilities, system of practice-oriented training of students of the Institute of Architecture, Construction and Transport, visited Tambov enterprises PA «Agrotech» and «Vi Grow», engaged in the production of spare parts for agricultural machinery and cultivation of agricultural crops.

The students also had an excursion educational and cultural programme ‘The History of the introduction of engineering thought in the architecture of the Russian countryside’ in the Museum Complex ‘Aseev Estate’, a sightseeing tour ‘Cultural and architectural heritage of small towns of Russia’ in the city of Morshansk, visited the Tambov Regional Museum of Local Lore, took part in an art master class organised by the Tambov Regional Art Gallery.

«Under the aegis of RAFU and within the framework of the Agreement on joining Tambov State Technical University to the Consortium signed in 2023, this year TSTU will intensify academic, scientific and cultural Russian-African interaction in the field of engineering education and technical sciences, which has great prospects for scientific, technical and academic interaction between the two countries, » commented Elena Sergeevna Mishchenko, Vice-Rector for International Activities.
