The meeting organized by the Alumni Association of St. Petersburg Polytechnic University took place on April 25, 2026, in the "Mythical" Hall of the Carré d'Or Hotel in Casablanca. The Association actively develops bilateral relations between Russia and Morocco, promotes and advances Russian education, Russian culture and language among Moroccans, and participates in organizing SPbPU and RAFU events in Morocco.

After welcoming the members and guests of the Association, the President of the Association, Dr. Omar Sabri, opened the session by wishing a warm welcome to the members and guests. He then presented the program and agenda of the meeting, which had been previously communicated in the association's online group.

A message from Mr. D. Mezhaourov, Consul General of Russia in Casablanca, was addressed to the graduates:

"Dear graduates of the legendary Leningrad Polytechnic Institute! It is very heartening to know that you have preserved the love and memory of your Alma mater, of those distant years, now recalling with a smile the first difficulties of life and interactions with friends in the dormitory. You have successfully traversed a long and difficult path of learning in a foreign language, far from your homeland, which became your home for several years. But you overcame everything, you triumphed over all difficulties, you mastered complex professions and, above all, one of the most difficult languages in the world. You succeeded! You have become great professionals, each in your own field. Some of you found love there. But most importantly, you have preserved the memory of those years, and today's Assembly, your Alumni Association, your fraternity, are testament to that. I am convinced that Leningrad - St. Petersburg, its courtyard wells, its bridges and embankments, also remember you. I wish you excellent health and great prosperity."

The debate began with a roundtable discussion during which each member spoke to introduce themselves and describe their professional background.

The discussions were rich and varied, addressing topics such as:

  • Multiplying meetings through various events organized throughout the year, including evening gatherings, themed days, debates, conferences, and participation in other events organized by third parties in order to increase the visibility and reach of the association.
  • Consolidating ties between members to form a stronger influence network.
  • Establishing an action plan with clear objectives and deadlines.

After the coffee break, the Honorary Consul General of Russia in Agadir (Morocco), Abid Abdelatif, presented trophies to the members of the association who were honored. In 2023, Mr. Abid Abdelatif, a 1983 graduate of the Leningrad Polytechnic Institute, also received the title of "Ambassador of Russian Education and Science".

The ceremony closed with speeches by Mr. Abdellatif Abid and Mr. Abdellah Naaman to thank the association, as well as a remote intervention by Mr. Boujemaa Maher.

At the end of the ceremony, the members present shared a lunch in a friendly and warm atmosphere.
