A delegation from Mali was familiarized with the experience of higher education at SPbGAU
A significant meeting with a delegation from the Republic of Mali took place at Saint Petersburg State Agrarian University. The event was held as part of cooperation with Peter the Great Saint Petersburg Polytechnic University and was dedicated to the development of educational programs in the field of "Agrarian and Industrial Complex."
The meeting is part of a large-scale project entitled "Developing a Concept for Reforming Higher Education in the Republic of Mali" and aims to develop a concept for establishing a polytechnic university in Bandiagara.
During the visit, guests from Mali were presented with promising educational programs currently being developed at SPbGAU:
1. Bachelor's degree 35.03.03 Agrochemistry and Agricultural Soil Science, with a specialization in Agroecology.
In this program, students are taught skills such as:
Organization of environmental control (monitoring) of the state of agroecosystem components and the safety of crop production
Organization of control over the impact of agro-industrial enterprises on the environment
Conducting preparatory, field, and laboratory stages of agrochemical soil testing
Development of recommendations for managing soil fertility on agricultural land
2. Bachelor's degree 35.03.08 Aquatic Bioresources and Aquaculture, with a specialization in Aquatic Bioresources Management and Aquaculture.
In this program, students are taught skills such as:
- Study of aquatic organisms, ecosystems, and characteristics of their natural habitats.
- Development and implementation of methods for breeding and farming fish, mollusks, algae, and other aquatic organisms.
- Management of water resources, analysis of the state of water resources, development of plans for their conservation and use, conducting fisheries and environmental assessments.
3. Bachelor's degree 35.03.06 Agricultural Engineering, with a specialization in Technical Systems in Agribusiness.
In this program, students are taught skills such as:
Fundamentals of production technologies and primary processing of crop and livestock products
Modern capabilities and means of mechanization and automation of production processes in agricultural production. Methods of quality control of mechanized operations in agricultural production
Directions and methods for improving the operational performance of agricultural machinery, transport and technological complexes, and equipment
Methods for evaluating the effectiveness of maintenance and operation of agricultural machinery. Reasons for downtime of agricultural machinery, transport and technological complexes, and equipment Best practices in the field of maintenance, diagnostics, and operation of agricultural machinery
Methods for assessing the risk of introducing new technologies (technology elements)
Methods for assessing the resources necessary to implement measures to improve the efficiency of maintenance, diagnostics, and operation of agricultural machinery, transport and technological complexes, and equipment
Methods for calculating the costs of implementation and the economic effect of implementing measures to improve the efficiency of maintenance, diagnostics, and operation of agricultural machinery, transport and technological complexes, and equipment
Occupational safety requirements to the extent necessary for the performance of job duties
These programs are aimed at training highly qualified specialists capable of contributing to the development of the agricultural sector and solving pressing issues in the field of agriculture.
After learning about the university's educational activities, the delegation visited the Leningradsky Agrochemical Service Center, where they were able to see the practical application of modern agrochemical technologies and methods.
This cooperation opens up new horizons for international educational exchange and contributes to strengthening partnerships in the field of agricultural education.
