Rector of SUSHPU Alexander Igorevich Kuznetsov took part in the launching of the magazine«Methodist.» SUSHPU continues active cooperation with the publishing house «Methodist,» which expands its presence in the international arena, promoting the leading Russian pedagogical practices, methods, and ideas.
«Dear colleagues, Itʼs a pleasure for me to welcome you to the first issue of „Methodist. Russia-Africa,“ in which we explore various aspects of the Russian education system. Our magazine aims to offer you a unique perspective on the crucial issues of pedagogical innovations, the digitization of education, and the professional development of teachers.
We cover a wide range of topics, from the history of education in Russia to modern advances. We pay particular attention to the importance of teaching mother tongues in the school curriculum, as well as the role of school museums in the education of future generations.
We also look at modern pedagogical practices, such as working with textual information and student project development. In the psychology and pedagogy section, we explain in detail the methods used to increase student motivation at school and analyze aggression among young people. The digitization of education, including the use of artificial intelligence and public resources on social media, is a hot topic.
Finally, we pay considerable attention to the professional development of teachers, exploring the processes of shaping the culture of professional discourse and ways of systematizing the experience of young teachers.
We hope this issue will provide you with new ideas and inspiration for your teaching activities. We thank you for your interest in our publication and wish you an exciting read!»
Alexander Igorevich Kuznetsov,
Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor and Rector of the Southern Ural State Humanitarian and Pedagogical University
For Methodists, partnership with Africa is not just words, but a real practice of implementing Russian educational technologies. The Methodist Publishing House has been in existence since 2001, when the first issue of the scientific and methodological journal of the same name was published. Now the publishing house portfolio includes 7 professional journals: «Methodist,» «Methodistʼs Library,» «Methodistʼs Master Class,» «Teacherʼs Workshop,» «Cadet Education,» «Methodist. Preschool Education,» and «Methodist. Professional Education.» The Publishing House has thousands of scientific and methodological articles both from recognized experts and professionals of the Russian education system and from ordinary pedagogical workers from all over Russia and abroad.
In addition, an important stage in the development of international educational cooperation was the launch of online courses to study Bambara, one of the key languages of the Republic of Mali, as part of the activities of the Consortium of Russian universities focused on strengthening ties with West African countries. These courses offer a wide range of opportunities for those who want to get acquainted with the culture and traditions of Mali through the study of the most widespread language of the state, contributing not only to the development of linguistic skills but also to the deepening of intercultural dialog between peoples.
Thanks to the initiative and professionalism of Natalia Krasovskaya, head of the Center for Public Diplomacy, as well as the universityʼs educational courses «Russian Word to the World,» which are successfully implemented in African countries by the South Ural State Humanitarian and Pedagogical University, the unique opportunity to study Bambara has become available in Russia as well. In the winter and spring of 2025, residents of various regions of our country took language courses at the Chelyabinsk Pedagogical University with great enthusiasm and interest, which demonstrates the growing interest in African languages and culture and also testifies to the significance of joint educational projects for strengthening international cooperation.
